. The TEC Model 1430 Loose Part Monitoring System is a state-of-the-art acoustic detection, analog processing, and annunciation system that meets the requirements of the NRC Regulator Guide 1.133. Included in the TEC Model 1430 system are the subcomponents listed to the left.

The configuration of the TEC Loose Part Monitoring System consists of up to six mounting channels per rack. Each channel consists of a field-mounted sensor and signal preamplifier, as well as signal processor modules located in the control room.

The field-mounted equipment consists of an Endevco Model 2272AMI Accelerometer at each of the monitoring sites, and a TEC Model 504A Charge Converter serving each of the sensor sites in line between the accelerometer and control room equipment.

The "heart" of the TEC Model 1430 is the TEC Model 1432 Impact Detector Module. The module provides: maximum sensitivity regardless of plant background levels, provides reliable indication of loose part events, eliminates problems associated with systems that utilize fixed alert level detection, provides convenient front panel setpoint control, and minimizes false alarms.

The tape recorder provides the important function of recording a loose part for future analysis. The filtered signal from the TEC 932 Differential Amplifier Module is recorded when a valid alert is received from the TEC 1433C Control Module. The tape recorder is automatically started by the TEC 146 Tape Recorder Interface. The TEC 1430 Loose Part Diagnostic System can record simultaneously from all sensors.

TEC's QA/QC program meets the requirements of 10CFR Part 50, Appendix B, and 10CFR Part 21. For qualification specific to this product, go to the Model 1430 Qualification page.
