Nuclear power plants are required to
isolate safety-related, Class 1E circuits from non-Class 1E circuits. The TEC Model 2200-2
Isolation System is designed to fulfill this requirement as set forth by IEEE Standard
384-1981. The TEC Model 2200-2 Isolation System is a modular rack-mounted system that provides termination, isolation, and separation for interfacing Class 1E signals with non-Class 1E systems. Both magnetic isolation techniques (for its analog isolators) and optical isolation techniques (for its digital isolators) are used to meet the Class 1E independence criteria and maintain electrical isolation of various types of signals. TEC's QA/QC program meets the requirements of 10CFR Part 50, Appendix B, and 10CFR Part 21. For qualification specific to this product, go to the Model 2200-2 Qualification page.
