TEC Nuclear Products:
A Reputation for Knowledge and Customer Service

TEC was founded by three PhD engineers from the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Labs in January of 1975.   Its purpose was the business of providing engineering systems, instrumentation, data management, surveillance, diagnostics, testing, and analytical and experimental support to its customers.   Founded by instrumentation engineers, TEC has always been excited by the engineering challenges of unique measurement and analysis instrumentation.

Early systems developed at TEC addressed a wide range of measurement and analysis challenges.  Some examples of our early systems included:  a loop current step response system that tested resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) in nuclear plants by injecting current into the sensor in situ and monitoring the temperature response to establish and verify the time response of the systems; a loose parts monitoring system that utilized vibration sensors to monitor for impacts from mechanical parts flowing within the coolant of power plants; and a valve flow monitoring system that monitors the vibration on pressure relief valves in nuclear plants and listens for flow noise to provide an indication of an open valve to reactor operators.

TEC- Nuclear continues to serve the foundation for its stringent quality control measures and commitment to product reliability.  All products are manufactured under a QA/QC program that meets the stringent requirements of 10CFR50, Appendix B and 10CFR21. TEC’s quality program is periodically audited by the Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC).
